mysteries of the brain
Ever since I was little and my parents forced me to eat McDonald’s chicken nuggets and Chinese pork-chive dumplings as a child, I was certain I hated McDonald’s chicken nuggets and dumplings and chives. I still hate the chicken nuggets. But recently I ate a pork chive dumpling and a wave of nostalgia hit me. It was so weird. But it felt good. Eating them with that processed taste, cold, soggy, and with that slightly plasticy taste just feels like my childhood. I like it best that way, I don’t know why exactly. And I still don’t like chives, but every time I eat a dumpling without them it just doesn’t feel right. Hm!
