I like to bike because I like the wind and and seeing people and hearing noises (cars and wind and people!) and eating yummy food! When I’m better I’m getting some Rio Adobe burritos and Maple Leaf Donuts. I want to eat at Pho Long Thinh and Trader Joe’s (salad/ Luna bars) and Yiassoo and New Tandoori and Liang Mama (beef noodle soup). But I won’t for a while because...
Call+Response
mingzhe:
Cupertino High School (well, not really school-wide, but whatever) is hosting its first ever screening of Call+Response, a rockumentary film discussing the world’s 27 million dirtiest secrets (on modern-day slavery & human trafficking). For CHS students, if you’re able, come! Super excited about this! My classroom, Room 503, 3pm - 5pm. Free food provided! Please RSVP here:

Family comes home
Me (from my room): Hello, which one are you?
(Family doesn't answer. Yising burps.)
Dad: Is Yiann asleep?
Yising: Yeah.
Me: I'm not asleep!
(Family doesn't answer)
Me: I am too quiet.
Mom: You got prettier after you got sick.
Me: wat
Mom: You lost weight.
I have cried twice in my life. Once when I was seven and I was hit by a school...

Sometimes I take random likings to people, even when I barely know them. I have realized the pattern. The more I like someone, the more thankful of a person they tend to be. I think it tends to come out in different aspects of personality, too.
Then I hunt them down and make them my friend
sometimes.
just a warning

I cooked some spaghetti for dinner and got out the jug of Arizona when a call came.
My parents: We will be home in 30 minutes and then we will go out to eat! Don’t eat dinner! Me: Okay.
I looked at the spaghetti. And the Arizona I poured.
AND DRANK AND ATE IT ALL HAHAHAHAHA REBELLIONNNN

Lists to remember
While thinking of a way to get 7 people somewhere efficiently, I realized we didn’t have a nice big van anymore. Then I realized the reason we don’t have or need a nice big van anymore is because Yining is married to David now. I know she got married in August. And I’ve seen the pictures, saw them do a ton of couply things, stayed over at their place, gotten to know David, but I...

I was out with my mom this afternoon when all of a sudden I got a call from Mrs. Robledo. My initial reaction was OH SHIT, THIS CAN’T BE GOOD.
BUT IT WAS GOOD! IT WAS SO AWESOME :D I was kind of yelping in the middle of the store, hehe.
We’re CSPA Crown finalists! I honestly didn’t believe…
so be kind.
Over the past semester, I heard from a few different people about how people thought I was cool and wanted to be my friend but were scared or something. It made me feel strange and sad because people were mean to me in middle school. I was an outcast.
It was partly my fault because I didn’t want to seem presumptuous and upfront. But everyday during lunch I sat somewhere and read. I felt...
I’m sure this has happened to you before, when one day you think of you a few years ago or less and realize that’s not you anymore. The transition is so gradual and unclear, but it was there. Usually it’s about a year or more until I feel that, but strangely this time it’s only been 4 months this time. The main difference seems to be that I have lost fear of many things....

I’ve been challenging myself more and more to do things that make myself uncomfortable, but I think are for the better.
I try to say hello to people, know people’s names, and talk to them. Strangers at school, no. Strangers on the street, yes. And people I know at school. I think it makes people feel a little better. But about a fourth of the time I am unnoticed because I am not loud...

Occupy
I really appreciate what the majority of occupiers seem to be promoting (I’m going to take from this article here. I modified it heavily, but it’s still worth directing you to that article.): Getting the money out of politics, reforming the banking system to prevent fraud and manipulation by separating investment banks from commercial banks, and drafting laws against the loophole that...
